Job description
Veterinary Surgeon
Archer Chesterfield is recruiting for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a standalone practice located on the edge of the Peak District. With access to a varied caseload including exotic species such as snakes, this is an excellent opportunity for a vet who enjoys clinical variety and outdoor living.
The role also includes mentoring responsibility for a newly qualified vet completing their Graduate Development Programme (GDP), making this a great opportunity for an experienced clinician looking to support the next generation of veterinary professionals.
Key Details
- From £65,000 FTE depending on experience.
- 1 in 4 weekends, with no out-of-hours work.
- Exotics seen, including snakes.
- Mentoring responsibility for a newly qualified vet on GDP.
- Standalone practice.
- No visa sponsorship available.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver first-opinion consultations, communicating clearly and compassionately with owners.
- Perform routine surgery, dentistry and medical work-ups appropriate to your experience.
- Work closely with RVNs and support staff to maintain safe and efficient patient flow.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- Registered with, or eligible to register with, the RCVS (MRCVS).
- Confident delivering first-opinion small animal care appropriate to the role.
- A calm, professional and client-focused approach.
