Overview

An established small animal practice in Eastleigh, Hampshire is looking for experienced locum cover from late October to late November, bridging until their new vet joins. Four days a week, with the possibility of further dates after the initial block.

The role is a mix of consults and surgery. Consult blocks are no longer than two hours without a break and appointments are 20 minutes.

There is an out of hours element, covering the practice's own clients at a single branch only. It runs at 1 in 5, week nights, via a pager that comes directly to the vet. The out of hours is described as relatively quiet with sporadic calls.

Responsibilities

• First opinion consulting across a varied small animal caseload
• Routine and first opinion surgery
• On call cover on a 1 in 5 rota, week nights, own clients only
• Working alongside an established team with good equipment

Requirements

• MRCVS registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
• Experienced small animal vet, comfortable with consults and surgery
• Confident taking on out of hours cover
• Right to work in the UK
