£55,000.00 - £62,000.00 per annum, dependent on experience, reviewed on progression into the Deputy Clinical Director role. Home based working with face to face activity concentrated in Hampshire. Funded CPD including ADOS-2, ADI-R and other assessment training, plus support for courses of your own choosing. A defined progression pathway from Clinical Lead to Deputy Clinical Director, with direct mentoring from the Clinical Director. Flexibility around personal and family commitments for the right candidate, including compressed or shortened working days.

Overview

An independent provider of psychological and neurodevelopmental assessment services across the South of England is investing in its clinical leadership structure. This is a newly created post, deputy to the Clinical Director, with clinical oversight across the whole service rather than the neurodevelopmental pathway alone.

It is a genuinely blended role: a neurodevelopmental assessment caseload, a broader general psychology caseload, and a real leadership remit from day one. The intention is to appoint somebody earlier in their post qualification career who will be trained, supervised and developed by the Clinical Director, growing into a Deputy Clinical Director role over time. You will have room to shape and develop the areas of the service you are most interested in, whether that is therapeutic provision or neurodiversity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver autism and wider neurodevelopmental assessments, including ADOS-2 and ADI-R where trained.
• Hold a general clinical caseload spanning psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention.
• Produce and sign off diagnostic reports and formulations to a consistently high standard.
• Act as deputy to the Clinical Director, providing clinical oversight across the full service.
• Manage and prioritise the assessment workload across the clinical team, balancing capacity against referral demand.
• Chair and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings alongside speech and language therapy and wider allied health colleagues.
• Provide clinical supervision, guidance and quality assurance to the clinical team.
• Support adherence to NICE guidance and to the quality standards attached to commissioned and partner pathways.
• Develop clinical governance, pathways and quality frameworks as the service grows, and contribute clinical input to new work and service models.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) and current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
• Six months or more post qualification experience. Candidates with less experience will be considered where the potential for a leadership pathway is clear.
• Experience of neurodevelopmental services.
• Experience of general psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention with a mixed caseload.
• Comfortable working outside the NHS and keen to take on managerial responsibility within an independent provider.
• Able to work autonomously in a remote first team and to travel into Hampshire as the work requires.
• Available on a full time or near full time basis.
• Desirable: ADOS-2 and ADI-R trained (funded if not yet trained); experience of NHS commissioned or Right to Choose neurodevelopmental pathways; experience of supervising or line managing qualified clinicians; multidisciplinary working with speech and language therapy, occupational therapy or psychiatry colleagues.
