Job Overview:

Join an award-winning, supportive, and dynamic prison Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team operating across multiple prisons. Collaborate with health care professionals, prison staff, and primary health care providers. The role extends to the Health and Justice SLT team, supporting service users with communication and swallowing needs in various Health and Justice services, offering flexibility across the region.

Main Duties:

The successful candidate will assess and intervene in communication difficulties for women in prison settings. Collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals and partner colleagues, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and collaborative working. As part of the wider SLT department, you'll enjoy excellent Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities and support.

Requirements:

Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration.

Postgraduate dysphagia training and experience in relevant clinical areas.

Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health difficulties.

Clinical supervision and teaching/training experience.

Knowledge of national guidance and key standards in the specialist area.
