Overview

We are recruiting a Social Care Worker for a newly approved agency position at a supported service in Lerwick, Shetland. Applications are welcomed from female candidates only, in line with the needs of the service, and non-drivers are accepted as driving is not required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care and support to service users within the unit
• Assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition and daily living tasks
• Support service users to maintain independence, dignity and choice
• Accurately record and report on care delivered
• Work as part of a shift-based team, following care plans and risk assessments

Requirements

• Previous experience in a social care or residential care setting
• SVQ / NVQ in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards
• SSSC registration, or eligibility to register
• PVG membership, or willingness to obtain
• Ability to work a shift rota including evenings and weekends
• Driving licence not required
