Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Children's Social Work Team Manager to lead a Children with Disabilities team within a local authority Children's Services in Halton. Reporting to the Principal Manager, you will supervise, support and advise a team of Social Workers and be accountable for the cases held across the team.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise and allocate work across the team, identifying resource pressures and contributing to service planning
• Hold accountability for all cases within the team's workload in line with policy and procedure
• Provide regular, high quality supervision and support to staff, including their wellbeing and development
• Ensure accurate recording, documentation and communication across the team
• Build and maintain effective partnerships across the statutory, voluntary and independent sectors

Requirements

• Social Work England registration and a DipSW, CQSW or equivalent social work qualification
• Post-qualifying experience with clear progression in a child or family service
• At least 3 years' permanent social work experience
• Experience of child protection enquiries, care planning and statutory reviews, with knowledge of Child Protection, Children Looked After and Leaving Care legislation
• Previous supervision of staff or students
• Children with disabilities experience is an advantage
• Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred) and the right to work in the UK
