Senior Speech and Language Therapist - Complex Care Needs

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist multidisciplinary team supporting individuals with complex needs.

You will play a key role within both the local service and the wider therapeutic services team, working alongside Behaviour Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Assistants. You will also work closely with participation-focused colleagues to help ensure the people supported are involved at every level of their care and development.

You will support people to develop communication skills, build independence and access a lifestyle of their choosing, while also contributing to the safe management of eating and drinking needs where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality speech and language therapy input to individuals within the service
• Assess, plan and implement person-centred communication strategies and interventions
• Support individuals to develop greater independence and functional communication skills
• Contribute to care planning within a Positive Behaviour Support model
• Support the management of safe eating and drinking experiences where required
• Provide professional advice, guidance and support to colleagues, families and other stakeholders
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes
• Contribute to the ongoing development of therapy services and evidence-based practice initiatives
