SEND Support Officer

Job description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Receiving, filing, and issuing documents to internal and external client groups as part of the statutory process. This includes maintaining accurate electronic and manual records and cross-referencing Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ensuring that data and recording systems are maintained accurately to meet statutory requirements and allow for effective reporting.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with client groups, including professionals involved with children with special educational needs, such as school SENDCOs, and parents/carers.
  • Gathering relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Processing annual reviews for children and young people, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards.
  • Visiting schools and maintaining contact with families to ensure open lines of communication and a clear understanding of the needs and progress of each child.
  • Participating in and supporting the statutory assessment process to ensure all necessary data and documentation are collected and processed correctly.
  • Maintaining accurate administrative systems, including electronic data management and document storage.

Requirements:

  • A degree or relevant administrative qualifications/experience.
  • Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within a SEND or educational environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with teams and external groups.
  • Willingness to adapt to new processes and technologies as needed.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
