Working as a Children's Manager, you will be managing a residential children’s home that provides for and promotes the care of children and young people working in partnership with their families.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Taking overall management responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the home and staff to ensure that the home meets the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality standards.
- Contributing to the development of service strategy and policy, business planning and budgetary processes as required.
- Participating in regular supervision and management/staff meetings in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations including personal development reviews.
- Engaging with the wider systems to ensure each young person’s needs are met by developing and maintaining professional and effective relationships with parents, carers, corporate parents and partner agencies.
- Providing a positive role model for the children and young people, presenting oneself in a highly professional manner.
Requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or a Social Work Qualification or equivalent or relevant.
- Knowledge and skills around service for children and young people in care.
- Knowledge of legislation, regulations and guidance procedures relating to children and young people.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children and young people.
- Minimum of two year’s management experience, with direct responsibility for supervising the work of others and supporting their learning in a care role.
