Job description

As a Senior Housing Options and Homeless Prevention Officer, your role will involve:

  • Addressing homelessness and providing sustainable housing solutions within the local community.
  • Leading and managing a caseload of individuals and families at risk of homelessness or in temporary accommodation.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify housing needs, vulnerabilities, and support requirements.
  • Developing and implementing tailored housing plans to prevent homelessness and facilitate sustainable housing solutions.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with local authorities, housing associations, charities, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with external agencies to coordinate support services and maximize resources for homeless prevention initiatives.
  • Providing expertise and guidance to colleagues on housing options, eligibility criteria, and relevant legal frameworks.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, assessments, and housing plans.
  • Generating regular reports for internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate the impact of homeless prevention efforts.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on homelessness prevention and housing options.
  • In-depth knowledge of housing policies, local authority procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
