Salary / Rate: £65,000 - £90,000 per annum
Rota: 7 nights on and 14 nights off, with handover support from the day team

Role overview

A client practice in Birmingham is seeking a night veterinary surgeon to support a well-established local caseload. The role is based in a 24-hour small animal hospital with in-patient facilities and imaging on site. The rota is 7 nights on and 14 nights off, with handover support from the day team.

Practice profile

Key responsibilities

• Assess urgent and emergency cases with calm clinical judgement
• Stabilise in-patients and communicate handovers clearly
• Work alongside nurses to maintain monitoring, pain relief and treatment plans
• Escalate complex cases appropriately within the hospital team

Requirements

• MRCVS registration or eligibility to register with the RCVS
• Confidence with first-opinion clinical work appropriate to the role
• A calm, professional approach with clients, colleagues and patients
• Interest in building longer-term relationships with clients and the wider practice team
