Rota: rural mixed locum block with farm calls by agreement and small animal consults

A client practice in Aberystwyth is seeking a locum mixed veterinary surgeon to support a well-established local caseload. The role is based in a Mid Wales practice requiring holiday cover across a varied caseload. The rota is rural mixed locum block with farm calls by agreement and small animal consults.

Practice profile

Key responsibilities

  • Provide practical small animal consults and routine surgery
  • Support farm, equine or smallholder clients depending on practice demand
  • Balance clinical autonomy with strong communication and safe handovers
  • Keep accurate records across a varied rural caseload

Requirements

  • MRCVS registration or eligibility to register with the RCVS
  • Confidence with first-opinion clinical work appropriate to the role
  • A calm, professional approach with clients, colleagues and patients
  • Availability for agreed locum dates and confidence working in a new practice environment
