Children's Social Worker

Job description

As a Children's Social Worker, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families in Whitby.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify needs, risks, and protective factors.
  • Developing and implementing care plans that prioritise the safety, well-being, and development of each child.
  • Providing direct support to families, addressing concerns related to parenting, housing, financial stability, and other relevant factors.
  • Intervening in crisis situations and implementing appropriate child protection measures.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress in accordance with organisational standards.
  • Preparing reports and participating in court proceedings as required, advocating for the best interests of the child.
  • Advocating for children's rights and collaborating with legal professionals to ensure proper legal representation.
  • Providing education and support to families on parenting skills, child development, and accessing community resources.

Requirements:

  • Social Work Degree.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Relevant experience in children's social work, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying abreast of changes in social work practice.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
