Specialist Autism Practitioner (Remote)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct ASD diagnostic assessments remotely for both private and NHS-commissioned clients.

• Participate in multi-disciplinary team (MDT) discussions.

• Actively manage clinical risk, reporting and addressing any concerns promptly.

• Ensure all clinical documentation meets organisational and regulatory compliance standards.

• Deliver clear, compassionate post-assessment feedback to clients and families.

• Provide signposting and post-diagnostic support where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 12 months’ diagnostic experience.

• ADOS-2 trained with at least 12 months’ delivery experience.

• ADI-R trained desired, with experience in conducting autism-specific developmental histories.

• Strong knowledge of DSM-V and NICE diagnostic criteria and guidelines for ASD.

• Comfortable working both remotely and face-to-face.

• Professional registration with HCPC, NMC or GMC

• Excellent IT skills for delivering online assessments (e.g., MS Teams, bespoke platforms).

• Commitment to ethical practice and safeguarding.

Professional Background

Applicants must hold a clinical qualification and registration in one of the following:

• Occupational Therapy

• Speech & Language Therapy

• Psychology (Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic)

• Mental Health or Learning Disability Nursing

• Paediatrics
