Job description

As a Principal Psychologist, you will be playing a key leadership role overseeing the delivery of psychological services, providing clinical supervision and guidance to staff, and contributing to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and managing a team of psychologists and other mental health professionals, ensuring high standards of clinical care and adherence to professional standards and guidelines.
  • Providing clinical supervision, mentoring, and support to junior psychologists and trainees, fostering their professional development and growth.
  • Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, formulate treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to clients across a range of age groups and presenting issues.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to provide holistic care and support to clients.
  • Developing and delivering training programs, workshops, and seminars on psychological topics for staff, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Contributing to research and evaluation projects, disseminating findings through publications and presentations to advance knowledge and practice in the field of psychology.
  • Actively engaging in professional development activities, staying abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in psychology.

Requirements:

  • Psychology Degree.
  • Full registration as a Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK.
  • Significant post-qualification experience working as a psychologist.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development, including participation in relevant training, supervision, and continuing education activities.
