This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NMP, an RGN or RMN who has a keen interest in substance misuse, and who is looking for an exciting opportunity or a career move.

As an NMP, you will be involved with opiate substitute treatment (OST) interventions benzodiazepine reductions, alcohol and opiate detoxifications and relapse prevention medications. As part of the wider Well being Team you will also provide support for health care assessments, administering detoxification medication for clients, completing alcohol and opiate detoxification assessments, providing Blood Borne Virus screening and vaccinations and will work closely with mental health, physical health and social care services. You’ll also help to create a collaborative approach that links us ever closer to outside professionals and agencies.

Full training and supervision is provided from our Clinical Services Nurse Manager and Clinical Lead. You will have a real opportunity to help shape service delivery and contribute to delivering clinically excellent services.

Working in a busy detox unit, you will be joining an established and experienced team who work to provide a high level of attention to all patients in their care. You will be competent across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge. You will have sound knowledge of the treatment journey and have a positive attitude towards training and development.

It is also preferable that you have experience in:

  • Vaccinations, including BBV, Hepatitis C Screening
  • ECG's
  • Alcohol and opiate detoxification
  • Health Promotion
  • Distributing and administering medication and controlled drugs
  • Completing Physical and phycological assessments

Essential requirements to work as Non Medical Prescriber:

  • Registered Nurse qualified with relevant degree
  • Relevant experience
  • Non Medical Prescriber Qualification - V300
  • Demonstrable experience or interest in substance misuse
  • Current and valid registration with the NMC and a legal right to work in the UK
