Learning Support Assistant

Job description

Working as a Learning Support Assistant, you will be playing a crucial role in providing support to students with diverse learning needs, fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities, assisting them in understanding and completing assignments.
  • Adapting teaching materials and resources to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Collaborating with teachers to create an inclusive classroom environment by assisting in the implementation of differentiated instruction.
  • Supporting the overall classroom management and ensure a safe and conducive learning space.
  • Assisting in the assessment of students' progress, both academically and socially.
  • Working closely with teachers to monitor and report on students' achievements and challenges.
  • Maintaining open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other support staff regarding student progress, challenges, and successes.
  • Assisting in the development and modification of teaching resources to support the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Collaborating with teachers to create a variety of materials that cater to different learning styles.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the educational journey of students.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
