Archer Resourcing are looking for two community IDVA's to join the team. Ideally you'd be close to Redcar and Cleveland, otherwise remote working would be considered for the right applicant.

The IDVA post will offer an innovative approach to meet the needs of survivors of domestic abuse within community setting. The community IDVA’s will target their work to reach in to underrepresented victims across the whole area urban and rural. They will work to strengthen our already existing links with partner organisations and work collaboratively to provide IDVA support and domestic abuse awareness within these organisations. The IDVA’s will be a single point of contact for partner organisations.

Responsibilties :

  • Responsible for managing a caseload of client to whom you will provide high quality; client support. Provide advocacy within the criminal justice system, offer emotional and practical support to victims including legal options, health, finance and housing.
  • Focus on and prioritise high risk cases and provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service through individual safety planning and personal support to help your client access services to keep themselves and their children safe.
  • Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to address the safety of high risk victims and ensuring that their safety plans are coordinated
  • Comply with data protection legislation, confidentiality and information sharing policy and procedures and all legislation connected to your work.
  • Always work within professional boundaries.

Requirements :

  • Be a qualified IDVA or be willing to undertake training.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of civil and criminal justice system remedies for victims of domestic abuse and their children.
  • Experience of working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership
  • Ability to manage a caseload of clients to whom you will provide high quality support
  • Have access to a car for work purposes and hold a full current UK driving licence
  • Candidates should have certificates or specific qualifications
