Upper KS2 Teacher

Job description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Upper Key Stage 2 Teacher to join the team on a Wednesday to Friday basis for the next term. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students in Upper Key Stage 2, fostering their academic progress and personal development.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that align with the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated, supported, and valued.
  • Assessing students' progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies, schemes of work, and assessment practices.
  • Establishing positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open communication and fostering a sense of community within the school.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies consistently and fairly, promoting a respectful and inclusive classroom culture.
  • Supporting the holistic development of students, including their social, emotional, and personal growth, through pastoral care and enrichment activities.
  • Engaging in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of the school.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 (ages 9-11) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs and abilities of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and promotes respect for all.
  • Organisational skills to effectively plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons and manage classroom resources.
  • Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
