Opiate Recovery Worker - Barnet

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join a well-established community drug and alcohol service based in Barnet. This role offers the opportunity to support individuals on their recovery journey and make a meaningful impact within the local community.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of service users with drug and/or alcohol support needs

• Completing comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, and recovery plans

• Delivering structured interventions and harm reduction advice

• Supporting individuals with detox and recovery pathways, including referrals to Tier 4 services where appropriate

• Working collaboratively with health professionals, housing providers, and social services

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in line with organisational and safeguarding policies

• Supporting service users to access wider services such as housing, employment, and mental health support

Requirements

• Previous experience working within a substance misuse or recovery service

• Experience managing a caseload of service users

• Strong understanding of harm reduction, safeguarding, and recovery-focused practice

• Ability to complete assessments, care plans, and risk management documentation

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Enhanced DBS within the last 12 months or registered on the DBS Update Service

Desirable

• Experience working within community drug and alcohol services

• Knowledge of local treatment systems and referral pathways

• Experience supporting clients with dual diagnosis or complex needs
