ABOUT THE ROLE
Archer Resourcing is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading UK provider of addiction treatment. They are seeking an experienced
Lead Nurse to clinically lead their support teams and deliver exceptional detox and recovery care. You’ll set the standard for safe, person-centred treatment — providing supervision, mentoring support workers, and working alongside doctors, therapists, and GPs in an integrated care model. With a maximum caseload of 23 clients and no regular weekend or night shifts, this is a rare opportunity to lead with purpose without sacrificing work-life balance.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Clinically lead and supervise support teams, upholding high standards of detox and recovery care.
- Assess, plan, and implement detox programmes including alcohol taper protocols and Librium (Chlordiazepoxide) regimes.
- Conduct COWS and CIWA-Ar assessments to guide safe detox progression and monitor withdrawal.
- Monitor vital signs and respond effectively to clinical and medical emergencies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to audits and quality improvement.
- Work collaboratively with doctors, therapists, GPs, and external professionals to deliver integrated treatment.
- Mentor and develop support workers, promoting continuous learning and best practice across the team.
- Oversee daily clinical operations, stepping into centre management responsibilities when required.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Essential
- NMC-registered nurse (RGN or RMN) with post-registration experience.
- Strong clinical leadership and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of withdrawal management tools (COWS, CIWA-Ar) and detox medications such as Librium.
- Confident in risk assessment, triage, and emergency response.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to clinical record-keeping.
Desirable
- Experience in detoxification, substance misuse, mental health, or acute clinical settings.
- Previous supervisory or clinical leadership experience.
- Proactive and compassionate approach within a multidisciplinary team.
