Academy Lead and Clinical Psychologist — Held Health
The organisation: Held Health is a fast-scaling UK healthcare provider delivering neurodiversity assessments and support (autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and mental health) for children, adults and families, with a digital-first model and neurodivergent-affirming culture.
The role: A hybrid leadership and clinical post, split roughly 3 days Academy Lead / 2 days clinical practice.
Academy Lead side (strategic):
- Establish and run Held Health's internal Academy — defining its identity, roadmap and value proposition
- Work with Clinical Leads to set clinical standards aligned to CQC guidance
- Design and deliver learning programmes, workshops and courses to upskill clinicians
- Identify "Academy Champions" to embed learning across teams
- Use performance data, audit outcomes and customer feedback (e.g. Trustpilot) to shape development priorities
- Measure and evaluate the impact of learning interventions
Clinical side (~2 days per week):
- Comprehensive psychological assessments for children, adolescents and young adults with complex emotional, behavioural and developmental presentations
- ADOS administration and interpretation for suspected ASD, including with co-occurring trauma or attachment difficulties
- MDS and outcome measures assessments
- Trauma-informed, attachment-based formulation and treatment planning
- Full diagnostic report writing and family feedback
- MDT working with psychiatrists, social workers, case managers and educators
- Supervision of interns, trainees and junior staff
Essential requirements:
- HCPC registration (or equivalent, e.g. Social Work England)
- 5+ years in a Lead role
- Proven experience leading an Academy, learning function or capability-building initiative
- Strong diagnostic assessment background using standardised tools
- Solid understanding of CQC guidelines
- Excellent facilitation, presentation and coaching skills
- Experience in a scaling healthcare organisation
Desirable:
- Experience establishing a new Academy from scratch
- Specialist trauma therapy training
