Let's recognise our Social Workers!

It's the 10 year anniversary of the Social Worker of The Year Awards charity and they have some big plans to commemorate the occasion.

Our world needs Social Workers to confront nagging social ills that undermine so many lives and communities. Socials Workers are seriously important providers of support to individuals and their families through challenging times to ensure that vulnerable people including children and adults are safeguarded from harm. Social Workers act as guides and advocates, improving the outcome of people's lives.

The Social Worker of The Year Awards is a tremendous way to recognise the outstanding effort that is put in by all Social Workers. This years virtual event will take place at the end of November and the theme 'Re-connection and Recognition' will highlight the outstanding work Social Workers have done over the last 12 months.

There will be the usual ten categories and two new categories:

  • Adult Social Worker of the Year  
  • Children’s Social Worker of the Year
  • Team Leader of the Year  
  • Mental Health Social Worker of the Year
  • Student Social Worker of the Year  
  • Newly Qualified Social Worker of the Year    
  • Practice Educator of the Year  
  • Team of the Year (any team including MDTs)
  • Employer of the Year
  • Outstanding Contribution during Covid-19 (winner of winners)
  • NEW - University of the Year
  • NEW - Social Justice Advocate of the Year

There’s no fee to enter and all nominations are now open until 23 July 2021!

To enter, simply visit the Social Worker of the Year Awards website. As expected there are a few basic rules.

  • Nominees must be fully qualified and registered with Social Work England
  • You can enter yourself (or your team) or a third party may nominate you
  • The awards are open to qualified and student Social Workers currently working in England
