Saturday Occupational Therapist

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Saturday Occupational Therapist to join a Children's Department on a locum basis. The successful candidate will work every Saturday from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm, delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to children. This position is ideal for an experienced therapist looking for flexible work hours on weekends.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing occupational therapy assessments and interventions for children with a variety of needs, including developmental delays, physical disabilities, sensory processing issues, and learning difficulties.
  • Developing and implementing individualised therapy plans to support children's functional development and independence.
  • Working closely with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Conducting regular progress reviews and update therapy plans as necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions and assessments.
  • Ensuring therapy interventions align with best practices and relevant healthcare standards.
  • Participating in team meetings and collaborating with colleagues within the department.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • A Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Paediatric experience (either through clinical placements or professional practice).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children and their families.
  • Knowledge of child development and paediatric therapy approaches.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Liability and malpractice insurance (covered if a member of RCSLT or RCOT).
  • First Aid training certification (preferred but not essential).
