Head of Clinical Services

A growing provider of mental health and wellbeing services is seeking an experienced Head of Clinical Services to join their senior leadership team in Manchester. The organisation delivers a range of therapeutic and wellbeing support programmes across both corporate and community settings, with a strong focus on accessible, high-quality care.

This position will suit a confident clinical leader who enjoys balancing operational oversight with service development, team leadership, and quality improvement. You will play a key role in shaping clinical delivery across multiple services while supporting managers and clinicians within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of clinical and therapeutic services across several teams
  • Support service managers with performance, staffing, and operational challenges
  • Drive service improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and client outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance frameworks, safeguarding standards, and internal procedures
  • Review service performance data and implement action plans where needed
  • Provide guidance on complex cases, risk management, and escalation processes
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on workforce planning and service growth
  • Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement projects
  • Build positive working relationships with external stakeholders and partner organisations
  • Support a positive team culture focused on wellbeing, accountability, and development

Requirements

  • Professional accreditation with BACP, UKCP or equivalent
  • Previous experience within a senior clinical leadership or service management role
  • Strong understanding of mental health service delivery and clinical governance
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams within a pressured environment
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining service quality
