Occupational Therapist - Band 6

Job description

As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient-centred care, contributing to the rehabilitation and well-being of individuals within our community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' functional abilities, identifying barriers to independence.
  • Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans to address physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to formulate and execute rehabilitation plans, promoting independence and optimising patients' quality of life.
  • Fostering strong therapeutic relationships with patients, ensuring their involvement in goal-setting and treatment planning.
  • Providing education and support to individuals and their families.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards.
  • Generating clear and concise reports to communicate progress and recommendations to the wider healthcare team.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physiotherapists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patients.

Requirements:

  • Occupational Therapy Degree.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Minimum of two years of post-qualification experience in a relevant clinical setting.
  • Proven experience in conducting assessments and delivering occupational therapy interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.
