SEN Tutor (Male preferred) - Telford

Package: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience), term-time.

Overview: 1:1 face-to-face tuition for a Year 11 student with SEMH needs and ADHD (assessment pending), currently out of education. The focus is re-engagement, basic skills and confidence rather than curriculum pace or exam content. The young person works at approximately KS2 level across the core subjects.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and Science at a foundational level
• Build trust and confidence with a disengaged learner; keep working blocks short and mix theory with practical activity
• Work flexibly to the student's attention span and provide clear, structured explanations
• Deliver sessions in a residential care setting with a responsible adult present throughout
• Provide consistency as a trusted key adult

Requirements:

• Experience tutoring/teaching learners with SEMH and ADHD
• Experience with Looked After Children and disengaged learners with fractured school histories
• Enhanced DBS (preferably on the Update Service)
• Patient, calm, flexible approach; able to pitch work at an achievable level
• Male tutor preferred by the family/placement
