Recruitment Support for the Registered Manager (JD, compliance checklist)

We help you recruit a suitably experienced and qualified Registered Manager.
This includes creating a strong Job Description, Person Specification, and guidance on essential compliance documents such as DBS checks, references, qualifications, induction paperwork, and training certificates. We advise on interview questions and selection so you hire a manager CQC will approve.

“Fit Person” Interview Coaching

The Registered Manager and Responsible Individual must undergo CQC’s “fit and proper person” assessment. We provide coaching sessions so you (or your manager) understand the types of questions asked, the decision-making framework CQC uses, and how to confidently demonstrate competence, leadership, and regulatory understanding.

We design a full governance system for your organisation. This includes:

• Clear reporting lines between the Registered Manager and Responsible Individual.
• Monthly/quarterly reporting templates.
• A structured compliance cycle covering audits, service reviews, risk assessments, and improvement planning.

This framework demonstrates robust oversight - something CQC inspects heavily.

Business Plan and Financials for Local Authority Tenders:

We create a full business plan to support funding bids or local authority tenders. This includes demand analysis, market positioning, staffing models, costings, break-even analysis, projected revenue, and pricing strategy. The plan is built to meet commissioning requirements and strengthen your ability to secure contracts.

Staff Training Starter Pack

We provide essential training materials and guidance for onboarding new staff. This includes induction frameworks, safeguarding training, Mental Capacity Act / DoLS basics, and competency templates. These form the minimum mandatory training required for CQC compliance.

Mock CQC Inspection

We carry out a full simulated inspection of your service, reviewing evidence, documentation, policies, care pathways, and governance. You receive a detailed report with actions required to reach “Good” or “Outstanding” levels before CQC visits for real.

On-Site Consultancy Day at Launch

On or around your launch date, we attend your site to ensure everything is set up correctly - policies in place, risk assessments complete, staff onboarding aligned, and your environment ready. We address any last-minute compliance issues and answer operational questions.

Property Compliance Support

We assess your chosen property to ensure it meets legal and regulatory standards. This includes HMO requirements, fire safety standards, supported living best practice, layout considerations, accessibility, and environmental risk. We work with you and (if needed) your landlord or property team to get the building compliant and ready for use.

Contract/Tender Bid Support

We help you prepare and submit high-quality tender applications and provider responses for local authorities or NHS commissioners. This includes writing method statements, quality answers, operational delivery plans, and supporting evidence to maximise success rates.

Crisis Management Playbook

This is a comprehensive guide to managing critical incidents. We provide clear step-by-step procedures covering complaints handling, safeguarding alerts, whistleblowing, staff conduct issues, emergency responses, and media/PR considerations. It ensures your team knows exactly what to do in high-risk situations.

3 months of Responsible Individual as a Service Included

For the first three months, we act as your external Responsible Individual—providing governance oversight, monthly reports, audit recommendations, and support to the Registered Manager. This gives you stability and confidence as you launch and grow.

Option to Roll into Ongoing RI or Governance Retainer

After the initial three months, you can transition into a long-term support contract where we continue providing RI services or governance oversight on a monthly basis.

Optional Add-ons

RI-as-a-Service:

We take on the Responsible Individual role permanently—handling governance, audits, regulatory oversight, staff supervision, incident reviews, and compliance monitoring. This gives you a fully outsourced senior leadership function without hiring in-house.

Quality Governance Support

This includes monthly compliance visits (virtual or in person), coaching the Registered Manager, reviewing audits, updating policies, checking staff files, and ensuring you're always inspection-ready. Ideal for small providers who need ongoing support.

Post-Inspection Recovery

If you have received a Requires Improvement or Inadequate rating, we provide an intensive recovery programme.

This includes root-cause analysis, action planning, quality improvement coaching, documentation overhaul, governance restructuring, and hands-on support to help you achieve a Good rating on reinspection.

How long does it take to become fully CQC-Registered with our support?

Most providers complete their CQC registration within 8–12 weeks, depending on how quickly they supply documents and schedule their Fit Person interview. Our support is designed to streamline the process, reduce delays, and ensure your application meets all regulatory expectations the first time.

Do I need to already have a Registered Manager before starting the package?

No. Many new providers begin without a Registered Manager in place. As part of the package, we help you recruit a suitable RM, prepare job descriptions, complete compliance checks, and coach them for the Fit Person interview. If you already have a manager, we simply tailor the support around them.

Can I get ongoing help after the initial setup and inspection preparation?

Absolutely. Many clients choose to continue with our RI-as-a-Service or Quality Governance retainers once they launch. This gives you ongoing compliance visits, audit support, leadership guidance, and monthly oversight to keep you inspection-ready year-round. You can scale support up or down depending on your needs.
